Hard Workout *wink* ...just some funnies to share!

So, the boys have both been sick on/off this week...which means I haven't had many breaks, and *no* chances to go to the gym (which I only joined last week). In an attempt to keep up my new habit, I've been doing workouts at home. Which is challenging. (Just try doing a workout with a 2 1/2 year old 'helping' you by climbing on your back while you do pushups, or sitting on your tummy during crunches, or bouncing on your fitness ball as you attempt a pike, and you'll see what I mean! LOL) Today, I decided to try a new video, and Daniel (my 4 1/2 yo) was my cheerleader/coach, echoing the trainer on the video. Near the end of the video, the chipper little workout lady suggested a way to 'take it up a notch' and I said "What is she, kidding??". To which Daniel replied (in the perfect deadpan that only a 4 1/2 year old with no understanding of sarcasm can use) "No, Mommy, I don't think she was kidding. You should keep doing it". LOL!! That kid seriously cracks me up! *grins*

After I finished, I went to get some water and lunch for Daniel (who hadn't eaten yet), and returned to find Jonathan (the 2 1/2 y.o.) like this:
Poor kid. Must've been a hard workout *wink*

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Feeling a bit better...

Thanks for all the well-wishes and prayers! My surgery on Thursday (to have my gallbladder removed) went very well, and I'm on the road to recovery. I had a set-back Friday night at dinner, when I caught Jonathan (my 2-year-old) as he was about to fall out of his chair...THAT hurt! But I'm slowly feeling better each day, and will be taking off all the bandages today.

I wanted to show you all the cards I've received from friends, so here they are! (I'm hoping to resume some kind of crafting soon, but can't use enough force yet to even stamp an image, so please be patient with this poor little invalid! *wink*) Sorry about the strange light/funky shadows on some of these...

From Jonathan, my 2-year-old (with help from Grandma Chris):

From Daniel, my 4-year-old (with NO help...it's a rocket):

From Grandma Chris (aka Razzleberry) and Grandpa Bernie (my DH's parents... they're the boys grandparents, not *my* grandparents!):

From my sweet neighbor and stamping friend, Shannon: (notice the Unity stamps? Yeah, I take all the credit for that!! ....Sorry, Jay!)

From the amazing Melinda (aka PassionFruit):

From the sweet Miss Jennifer Taylor (aka JenMarie on SCS):

and a close-up, since the first shot doesn't show the glossy on the umbrella, or the little puddle she's standing in!
And thank you also, JenMarie, for the stamped images and embossed goodies! {Love} them!

Okay, I'm headed back to bed...catch you later! Thanks for stopping by!

Dial-up stinks! ...and a star tree

Sorry I haven't been updating! We moved last weekend (June 21st), and don't have DSL hooked up yet...and blogger isn't so happy on dial-up.

It's hard to believe we all lived like this 10 years ago!! I'm so used to being instantly connected to everything now, that I feel like I'm on some sort of primitive island *wink*

But, I thought I'd share a quick picture of Daniel, showing off his filled-up Star Tree. I made it for him to encourage him to have good behavior at preschool (each start = 1 day with no time-outs). He filled it (25 stars, and he goes to school 2 days/week) in just under 3 months...nothing like a little motivation!! He got to pick out a toy at the toy store, and chose a super-soaker...fitting, since it was a record-breaking 116F the next day!

The whole chart is made from cardstock (if I have to look at it for 3 months, it may as well be pretty, right?), and I cut out the tree by hand. You can't see it in the picture, but around the sky blue cutout is faux-stitching with my Zig writer. The star punch is from SU! and the bird punch is from Martha Stewart Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by! DSL comes this week (*fingers crossed*), and then I'll be showing you some more goodies!
